We’re Going on a Lion Hunt by Margery Cuyler

Daughter’s age when read: 3 years old

I borrowed this book from the library because it was a take on We’re Going on a Bear Hunt which is a favorite of my daughter’s.  This one did not quite make the same impression on her.  She did enjoy reading the book but it seemed more so because she enjoyed looking at the pictures and asking questions about them rather than hearing the story.  The illustrations was very different from the edition of We’re Going On a Bear Hunt that we have as you can see from the cover.  Still she seems to enjoy looking at the pictures in both books.  The flow of the words was not as smooth in this one and made it a little more awkward to read. She would lose interest in each page before we finished it.  She still recognizes the cover a month later but has not asked to read it so back to the library it went.
